My clients wanted a garden with an adventure space for the children, a large lawn area for play, and a dining area to complement the newly built kitchen extension.
A tree house climbing structure was built into the branches of the mature horse chestnut tree at the bottom of the garden. This tree inspired the shape of the oval lawn alongside which curves a pergola of climbers providing a tranquil space to sit, and separating the areas of play and dining.
The sunny area to the side of the kitchen extension with its large folding doors was perfect for an extended outdoor dining area. Low walls built around this space were created in response to the owners’ desire for clean lines and contemporary design. In-built seating provides an intimate dining area for both family meals and entertaining.
